Jillbert obtained his Bachelor of Music in Performance, majoring in voice, from the University of Santo Tomas Conservatory of Music under the tutelage of Professor Lemuel Dela Cruz. Jillbert was the grand prize winner of the Jovita Fuentes Vocal Competition and was one of the finalists in the 2010 National Music Competition for Young Artists. He was selected by the French Embassy of Manila to participate in masterclasses conducted by Conservatoire de Paris pedagogues Florence Guignolet and Stephane Werchowski. These masterclasses culminated in a concert at the Cultural Center of the Philippines, performing with Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra under French conductor Michael Cousteau.

Jillbert has performed in many operas in Singapore and the Philippines, his most noteworthy role as The Bonze in Puccini’s opera Madama Butterfly. A former member of Singapore’s Lyric Opera, he has sung in Mozart’s The Magic Flute, Beethoven’s Fidelio, Puccini’s Gianni Schicchi, La Bohème, Manon Lescaut, Turandot, and Verdi’s Aida to name but a few. He has performed as a bass soloist in Beethoven’s Choral Fantasy for the Esplanade’s 10th Anniversary Concert with the Singapore Symphony Orchestra under Maestro Lan Shui. Most recently, he portrayed the role of Elias in a production of Dr. Jose Rizal’s famous novel Noli Me Tangere, set to an opera by Felipe Padilla de Leon.

Jillbert’s passion for teaching started from his role as a voice faculty member at the Philippine Opera Company. Since then, he has taught voice at various music schools to students of all ages and levels. He has trained several corporate and school choirs in the Philippines, including a toddlers chorus at Little Clarion International Preschool in Manila. Jillbert is versatile in his teaching, and can teach multiple genres, including Classical, Musical Theatre, R&B, Pop and Jazz. Jillbert hopes to continue imparting the best of his knowledge to his students, teaching them to always sing with their heart and soul.

Jillbert曾在新加坡和菲律賓出演過許多歌劇，其中最值得注意的是他在普契尼歌劇《蝴蝶夫人》中出演的僧侶角色。身為新加坡抒情歌劇院的前成員，他曾在莫札特的《魔笛》、貝多芬的《費德里奧》、普契尼的《詹尼·斯基基》、《波希米亞人》、《曼儂·萊斯科》、《圖蘭朵》和威爾第的《阿依達》等作品中演唱。 他曾在水藍大師的指揮下與新加坡交響樂團合作，在濱海藝術中心十週年音樂會上擔任貝多芬《合唱幻想曲》中的低音獨唱。 最近他在菲律賓著名作曲家Felipe Padilla de Leon的歌劇《Noli Me Tangere》中飾演埃利亞斯一角。
