Melina earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education (major in Vocal Performance and minor in Piano Performance) from the University of Santo Tomas Conservatory of Music, under the distinguished guidance of Maestra Gloria Coronel. Melina has extensive experience working with students from age 4 to working professionals, and is a versatile singer who can teach a wide variety of genres such as Classical, Musical Theatre, R&B and Pop.

Hailing from a musical family, Melina started her musical journey with singing lessons at the age of 4. During her university days, she contributed significantly to the University of Santo Tomas Singers as an alto and soloist. Most notably, the award-winning ensemble won the Choir of the World –Luciano Pavarotti Grand Prize at the 2010 Llangollen International Music Eisteddfod in Wales, United Kingdom –the oldest and most prestigious choir competition in the world. With the UST Singers, Melina has performed extensively at numerous concerts, music festivals, and competitions across Europe, United States, Mexico, Taiwan, China, and South Korea.

Melina is an enthusiastic music educator with over 8 years of teaching experience fostering talent in music schools across Asia. In Brunei, she has served as a Voice and Piano Instructor at a music school, and Vocal Coach for theatrical productions including "Shrek", "Musical Mania", and "Cinderella" at a performing arts academy. Melina has also taught voice and piano in several music schools in the Philippines, preparing students for examinations, concerts, auditions and recording sessions. Melina is well equipped in vocal exam syllabi where most of her students have achieved Distinction and Merit results. Aside from voice and piano, she has also taught music enjoyment classes and ensemble singing. Melina has great passion for teaching, and hopes to continue to devote herself to inspiring her students to improve, overcome obstacles and obtain desired results.
