Personal Information Collection Statement

This is a statement to inform you of your rights under the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance.

We are committed to protecting the privacy, confidentiality and security of the personal information we hold by complying with the requirements of Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance with respect to the management of personal information. We are equally committed to ensuring that all our employees and agents uphold these obligations. 

The Personal Data collected from students and/or their parents/guardians pursuant to this Application Form will be kept confidential and used by M.int Academy Limited (“we” or “us”) for lawful and relevant purposes including but not limited to:

(a)   processing and registering applications for M.int Academy classes;

(b)   identification and verification of the student’s information, such as music examination results;

(c)   administration and operation after registration;

(d)   direct marketing, including sending communications to parents and students which include but are not limited to newsletters and information about special events, questionnaires or surveys; 

(e)   other marketing, promotional and customer relationship management purposes; 

(f)   preventing the transmission of infectious and communicable diseases;

(g)   safeguarding the welfare and wellbeing of children; and

(h)   statistical and research purposes.

Certain Personal Data (particularly relating to student background information and contact information) may be required by us for the purposes of providing and/or delivering services and/or products to you and if you fail to supply such Personal Data as requested, we may be unable to provide and/or deliver you the services and/or products. 

If any of our communications constitute direct marketing we will separately seek your consent where required by law.

We may disclose some of the data to third parties such as agencies (including the Hong Kong government), service providers and contractors (whether within or outside the jurisdiction in which M.int Academy is located) appointed by us. We will not disclose any Personal Data to any external bodies or organisations unless:

(a)   Such disclosure is expressly provided for under this Statement;

(b)   Permitted to do so by the student or his/her parent/guardian; and/or

(c)   Permitted or required by law.

Personal Data may be stored in our database systems (which may be located within or outside the jurisdiction in which we are located) and online portals and such Personal Data will form part of the applicant’s official student records.

All practicable and reasonable steps will be taken to ensure that Personal Data held by us is accurate.  We will take all practicable steps to ensure security of the Personal Data and to avoid unauthorised or accidental access, collection, use, disclosure, copying, modification, disposal, erasure or other use.

Applicants or their parents/guardians have the right to access or correct Personal Data held by us. A request for access or correction to, or deletion of Personal Data or for information regarding policies and practices and kinds of Personal Data held by us must be in writing and sent to us via email at info@mintacademyhk.com.
