The M.int Sprouts course is designed to be taken before or alongside instrumental lessons to form an unrivalled, balanced, and comprehensive music education unique to M.int Academy.
Each Sprouts class will be divided into two halves. In the first 30 minutes, students will dive into musicianship fundamentals inspired by the Kodály Method of musical education, a world-renowned approach that specialises in child-friendly game-based learning. Sprouts will develop essential musicianship skills, including the ability to identify, differentiate and vocalise a range of dynamics, pitches, and tempos; sing individually with understanding at pitch; play and move to a beat; clap back simple rhythms; and recognise rhythms of familiar songs and rhymes.
In the second half of the class, students will be introduced to instruments through The Carnival of the Animals, a child-friendly musical suite written by French composer Camille Saint-Saëns. Throughout the course, students will also learn basic music theory through fun and interactive names, covering topics such as letter names, note values, rests, dynamics, tempo, and treble and bass clef.
