The M.int Leaves course is designed to be taken before or alongside instrumental lessons to form an unrivalled, balanced, and comprehensive music education unique to M.int Academy.

In the first 30 minutes, students will explore musicianship fundamentals inspired by the Kodály Method of musical education, a world-renowned approach that specialises in child-friendly game-based learning. Leaves will reinforce their understanding of musical concepts and terminologies through playground songs, rhymes and rhythmic movements. Building on the skills learned at the Sprouts level, students will learn to sing in pitch – both individually and in a group – while developing a strong conscious grasp of pitch, rhythm and beat.

In the second half of the class, students will explore iconic composers from the Romantic and 20th Century periods. They will study notable works such as Tchaikovsky’s The Nutcracker, Liszt’s Piano Concerto No.1, John Williams’ Star Wars theme, Strouse and Charnin’s Annie the Musical and Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue. Through their study of these famous repertoires, students will not only deepen their understanding of music theory concepts but also enrich their musical knowledge by exploring a variety of genres, including concerto, ballet, musical, jazz and film music.
